Blog With Mom (5)

Mom: My daughter went to the St. George Debate today. Her dad went to pick her up so I cooked dinner. I also cooked some peanut soup for her. She came back almost 9:30. I thought the event would end at 7:30 but apparently they were not always right on schedule. Nevertheless, it was a very good practice for Mimi and a great opportunity.

Me: Ghahhahahah today I finally went to the St. George's Debate! At lunch I changed into my formal outfit. It was really intense and awkward to be seem in a dress...People were like looking at me and I was like -.- Anyways, I left school at 2:15 and Shanna's mom gave us a ride. When we got to St. Georges we waited for a while for the event briefing to start. Then we were introduced our resolution. I thought my team was on the affirmative side, and our resolution was something like : This House would establish an anti-bullying legistration. But then------something happened. So my partner Jason and I rushed to our room to prepare for our speech, and then there were two guys standing outside the room staring at us. I could hear them saying "Aren't we suppose to debate with the Crofton House girls?" Then I was like WHAT. Then the Crofton people arrived and we were just like O.o They told us that we've made a mistake because our school code was so similar, and that when it was displayed on the screen we probably mistaken theirs for ours. So we rushed back to McClean Hall and asked the host, and she got our right room. We were on the opposition side and we were facing two guys from private school, of which I presumed to be either St. George's or Vancouver College. They were really good speakers! I was a bit rusty for that round. Our opponents had some great points but their lack of respect for us really annoyed me. During our speeches they were talking to each other really loud and giggling. OH GEEZ! I was seriously annoyed. Jason addressed their inappropriateness in his speech and I hope the judge heard us.

For second round we debated a different topic, and this time we were on the affirmative side. Our new resolution was: This House would put strengthening the Canadian Criminal Code as priority (something like that). I think we did way better for that round! We were debating against University Hill students and they were not as strong as our opponents from the first round. I was more confident in that round. Our opponents went slightly off-topic in that round and went onto issues concerning the economy, education and homelessness rather than focusing on the given issue. Overall I think we did better in the second round.

Today had been a busy day and now I am just s exhausted! But the tournament was really epicly fun and I hope we can get another chance to do one soon! :p

Blog with Mom (4)

Mom: Mimi wanted me to get her a formal outfit for the St. George Debate Tournament so I went shopping this afternoon. I found this little suit (the jacket) and bought it. Mimi didn't come with me because she had debate meeting. I got the jacket home and she tried it on but the shoulder parts are too wide for her. So she borrowed one of my outfit. I just hope she doesn't ruin it. Mimi is not always very careful with her outfits.

Me: Today I went to debate meeting and then piano. Can you believe it? The St. George Debate Tournament is happening tomorrow afternoon! Oui, indeed my friend. Anyways, ma mere bought me a jacket for the event but unfortunately the shoulder part was a bit wide. But my mom said she's gonna save it for when I grow up. She said that I will grow taller and perhaps then I would be able to wear that jacket. But for tomorrow I am wearing one of her dress. I am not really a dress person and wearing a dress makes me feel girly but it's for my debate tournament. Although Mr. Hauck said we don't really need a really really formal outfit...well, I still wanna wear a formal outfit, because I think Debate Tournaments are sorta like really formal socials events. What's more, last time at the UBC debate tournament we were required to wear formal clothings. So yep.

Mom: Mimi asked me to buy a loaf of raisin bread and buns from St.Jermaine's bakery because she didn't want to eat the whole grain bread her dad made. Sigh. I've always told her that whole grain products are suppose to be healthy for her but she just won't listen. Oh well. I guess all kids are like this.

Me: Mom bought me some baked goods and they taste really awesome. Then I practiced piano and my mom criticized me while I played. I needed her opinion because my practical exam is in January and I wanna be prepared for that. Oh and I just finished the biography of Lang Lang! It's so.....well, I can't really describe it. But I've learned so much about the talented young pianists! And his dad...OMG. Such a cruel dad. I is scared of Lang Lang's dad. o.o

Sorry I missed a blog yesterday! Well here's my interview with ma mere...

Mom: It's going to be a very busy week. Mimi has exams and a piano performance on Saturday and a Christmas program at Sunday School on Sunday. She also has to go to this award ceremony for a medal she'd won. Busy week for her. And now I am doing her chores such as washing the dishes because she's been busy all week.

Me: Nothing much really happened today. But then my mom made this hot soup for me. It has peanut and water lily root in it and I liked it very much. And then after I studied harmony and rudiment because I have exams next Saturday. I do not enjoy studying very much and I hopes I can just get it over with next Saturday.

I woke up this morning, thinking it would be the worst December ever. I have a sore throat and god my shot hurts :(. I had photography in the morning and started a new project. I uploaded my reflection project :P. Then for French we had to design an invention. My partner is Zoe. We invented this super duper awesome glasses that has plenty of cool functions. Oh. LUNCH. That reminds me of yesterday's lunch. Yesterday Kady wasn't feeling too well and it was so scary she was puking in the washroom---perhaps aftereffects from the shot. Now let's get back to today. For socials I was screaming at everyone. Lololololololz. Then for Applied Skills I shot scenes for English. I added some magic to the video, and the magic shall be revealed tomorrow at English :p. Then I went home and did magic for 3 hours.

I didn't wash my hair today and made my mom wash it. Lolz. She is a hairdresser. :o) She gave me a massage and it was so <3.
