Okay...I Think My Forehead'z Burning Up...

Yesterday I had a nasty cold which left me feeling all tired and sore and stuff this morning. I couldn't breathe right because my nose was kinda stuffy. Contraction. Ugh. When I don't get enough oxygen, I get dizzy. And heck, I had rudiment class today which was fine, but the sun outside was just not cooperating with me. It was so hot! It's not that I can't sustain the heat. I am used to the heat, it's just that when I just had a cold and stuff and it gets really warm outside I get dizzy and somehow my head felt heavier than my feet. Mom says I am low on sugar so she bought me cookies strawberries yogurt and other yummy treats and gosh they taste good. HAPPY FACE FOR THE DAY. Why are moms always so caring and coolio?

OMG

So this afternoon I was watching TV and I saw the channel showing Prince (now Duke o' Cambridge) and Princess Kate (Now Duchess o' Cambridge)'s wedding! It was so awesome! But I like Princess Diana's wedding gown better cuz it's more...well, luxurious and sparly? Anyway, Prince William looked BETTER than his dad Charles when Charles' got married with Diana. Ohohoho. And they kissed twice on the balcony. How lovely. Heheheheheh. I really like how they decorated the church with all the beautiful lights and stuff and ooohhhh there's also this red carpet thingy. The queen looked tired. LOL.

OH MY GAWD~~~

Dude!!!!!! So for piano today my teacher was like, "Hey Mimi here's another music piece for the blah blah recital on May 28th at UBC and here's another piece called the {Hungarian blah blah} by Lizt and I want you to practice it well cuz you are gonna play it with another student in a duet and he/she (I don't know, she only gave me the person's Chinese name and it sounded...neutral, so yeah) is so pro at piano and stuff and blah blah blah".Oh gosh. I already have the level 10 exam thingy in January and another recital/ performance on May 15th. Gahhhhh. My schedule is so tight right now!

I think my nose is kinda bleeding on the inside because I ate like six pieces of extremely hot spicy chicken strips yesterday. This morning when I woke up my nose was kinda bloody...and now I have a painful headache.

HERE'S A NOTE FOR MYSELF
-Outdoor track meet have to do long jump + 4 x1 relay + 800m run. Huff huff.

Cookie Time

OMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM I love cookies especially chocolate chips cookies. Mmm. So yummy and irresistable. I am munching on one right now. Delicious. They go best with milk, not with juice, because juice is sweet and cookies are sweet and they just clash together and create this really really sweet taste which is annoying. So milk ftw!

My mom tells me to stop eating cookies because she says it ruins my appetite AND MAKES ME FAT. I don't think I am fat. I think I need the fat so I can burn baby burn~~

Right now I am so full. Stuffed with cookies...Sweet cookies~~~

Happy Easter Monday!

Woot! It's Easter Monday already and I get to stay at home with my mom and dad. Very pleasant. Except that my dad's all buried in complicated-subjected books and my mom is reading SHERLOCK HOLMES. Wow. so I was left kinda forever alone but then my mom assigned me to this plate design art project and I did that for half-an-hour. Now I have to wait for it to dry so I can fineline it. Not bad. Tsk tsk. I am gonna go visit my friend Maia this afternoon and finished my speech for the Green Party tonight. Or maybe now. Oh gosh, I feel so lazy right now. I wish we don't need to go to school tomorrow-----OPPS did I just say that? =$

LOL Enjoy your Easter Monday!

So Cold...Brrr

WHY IS THIS COUNTRY SO COLD?!

Yeah yeah, it's Canada alright. I must say, today is kinda cold. Not really freezing but cold. And wet. It's kinda like Hainan except the average temperature in Hainan is like 36 Celsius. LOL. I like it when it gets warm and hot. I don't mind the burning heat...I am so used to it because I've lived 11 years in Hainan where it's summer all year round-----you can only go to the beach in the winter, or else it would be too hot in the summer! That got me pondering. Ya know, I still remember the month July in 2008-----that was when I came to Vancouver, and it was freezing cold. Yep. It was summertime and it was colder than the winter in Hainan. I really liked the weather yesterday because it was nice and sunny and hot. It's kinda like the weather in California I guess =]

God, I sure hope the weather gets better tomorrow. If it gets any wetter I think I am gonna grow mold/moss on myself.

Ooooo Antique Shops & Other Crazy Theme Furniture Shops

Today I had theory class and my mom and I decided to go shopping after class. Well, we hopped on no.10 bus and it dropped us off at...I don't know, but somewhere close to Broadway (btw we were on Granville Street). Anyway, there were a few interesting antique shops and furniture shops. My mom and I adore antique shops. There was one called "The Farmhouse" (I think) and I think it's an antique shop because the stuff it features tend to be in a time period of the 19th century and it was really cool because most of the furniture were either faded or scratched. Reminded me of the time when we visited my dad's oldest aunt and she had this beautiful wardrobe from the 19th century. Coolio. Then there was another antique shop that had the cutest antique lamp EVER! It's made of iron and it kinda looks like the walking lamp from the movie Spirited Away. The furniture there were all made of REAL WOOD. GOOD QUALITY WOOD.

Then there was another rock shop featuring crystals and big jugs and vases made of special rocks. There were also fossils there. I have tonnes of that stuff back in China. My dad bought them from Chile (I don't know why, and back then he bought SO MANY that a lot of them were damaged in his suitcases). Anyway, the quartz they were showing were HUGE. Gigantic. Very beautiful though.

AND OMG there was another furniture shop that captured my attention. The theme of the furniture shop was the wilderness and mechanics. The lamps there were absolutely gorgeous and similar to the other lamp I saw earlier at the second antique shop. The comfy chairs there had fascinating designs and god I really really wanted to get one but it says one chair costs more than a thousand bucks so yeah. O.O I think I would definitely purchase some of those furniture when I have my own little cottage by the lake one day.

It was an amazing trip------seeing all the antiques and furniture!

STUPID, STUPID ROOTS

So for dinner I had lotus roots as the main dish. They tasted crispy and delicious but when I finished my dinner my stomach started to ache really bad because of the lotus roots. Ow ow ow ow it's giving me a BAD CRAMP right now. Ugh. I feel so full right now. So I thought of this weird idea:

If we could grow lotus roots in poor countries people can just feed on the lotus roots and be full everyday and not worry about malnutrition no more.

I don't think that's gonna work out. But eh, who knows? It's an idea alright.

OW OW OW OW MY STOMACH IS IN INTENSE AGONY RIGHT NOW I THINK I AM GONNA PUKE..

My Day----Aha!

We started out with French today. We had a French test and I was so scared but when Ms. Chuaqui presented the test to us I realized that it was actually pretty easy. So much for all the worries. I think I did a perfect on that test. =D

Anyway, for second period I had English. We handed in our eight poems and had book talks. MAN THE BOOK TALKS WERE LONG. We had at least five people going and their speeches were pretty long and Mrs. Greskiw had to cut them short. To be honest with you it was kinda tiring listen to all the book talks because they just went on and on. The books were interesting though. All the presenters did a very good job. But April got so emotional during her book talk because she related the book to a very personal issue. I hope she's okay... <:-O

After lunch we had Applied Skills and gosh we finally finished SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE. It was such an awesome movie. I really enjoyed it and the good thing was, I finished my scarf also! I mean, not really, but I kinda finished it. I just bound it when I got home. So now I am on to my fourth scarf. Yesssssss.

For Math, we didn't do much actually. It was just some random chatting and work and stuff. When the bell rang, I went to my locker and met up with Asma. We walked home together.

That's my typical day 1. Not bad huh?

Art Trolled Me

So today I was like doing print-making for Art and god the stinkin' ink just wouldn't come off my fingernails! Now my nails are all stained and they look absolutely DISGUSTING. Ugh. I can't cut my nails because they are already short enough. It's just sad...Now I am gonna try washing it with soap. Hope it helps. I mean, printing was fun, but it also left a lot of messes. Painting is so much EASIER. You just have to deal with the paint and the brushes and the easel and the canvas. Nice n' simple.

Anyway, we still have one more class of print-making left, so I am gonna finish off the project I am currently working on. It was a lot of fun but I would like to switch to something new now...

Sigh~~~

Dad is in the kitchen, screaming about how I should've told him to microwave the tortilla for 01:30 not 02:00. What a fun family. And now he is complaining about how disgusting the food tastes.

So Back to the Topic

People keep asking me, "Mimi, Y R U SO WEIRD/CRUEL/UGHHGHGH", well, my friend, I was BORN THIS WAY. No, that does not mean I am Lady Gaga. I just like observing bugs and touching them and well...squishing them as well-.-I don't know why people think worms are so disgusting. I think they are interesting. Anyway I just wanna hold my friend's tarantula Rosy right now because the way she stays on your palm is always so soft and everything.

Okay I have to stop talking...

So...

My feet hurt like hell. My toes just died from yesterday's Sun Run. Ughhhhhh. The good thing was, we didn't have to do six laps today. The bad thing was, we still had to do a three-lap warmup around the oval.Ouch. My body really aches right now and it just hurts like crazy. Mr. Pears is gonna test us on discus and probably the 400 meter run on Wednesday. Goddddd!

I found two worms today. I accidentally pushed one into a drain so I was left with one worm. It was a big and fat and plump and long worm. It was all purplish and stuff. There was a red vein inside the worm.

Fascinating...O.o

OMG SUN RUN!!!!!!!

SO TODAY WAS THE BIG DAY FOR SUN RUN!!! I was soooo excited this morning. I got up like at seven and left at 7:30. By the time I reached Langara Canada Line Station it was already eight o'clock and I met up with Aileen. We chatted for a while but then Leslie and Olivia's screams brought our conversation to an end. Apparently they've been there for half-an-hour already. We immediately hopped on the train with April and got to our racing site. There were bridges of balloons and we found the white balloon bridge and stayed in that section. We met up with Natasha and Vivian Chew and waited for quite a while until the race started. It was extremely warm because people were basically huddled together (it was so crowded!) We accidentally got into the green zone when it was time for them to run, and Leslie and Olivia got away.

Well, our chips on our shoes started timing once we crossed the line. We buddied up with each other so we wouldn't get lost in a sea of people. Natasha ran with Vivian while I ran with April. But then April got too tired and slowed down. Soon she disappeared outta my sight and I ran with Natasha and Vivian. We stayed together for the entire race. There were several water stops along the way and there was one bagel stop. I made a mistake by eating the bagels and drinking too much cold water. The food started arguing with my stomach and I got a tiny cramp. But it eventually went away. We jogged along the beaches and stuff and the scenery was just beautiful. It was sunny and not too cold.I've never seen anything like this before. Tonnes of people running together. There were many bands and perfomers and people who cheered for us while we ran. It really raised our spirits.

While we ran, we crossed this bridge. I am not sure which one. Anyway, we stopped at a pit stop for a long time for everybody to finish. Fang Yu joined us so we had four people! To make up for the time we'd lost, we ran for 2 km at a rather fast pace. My feet started to hurt at the end.

The last km everybody just RAN. No. Actually, we kinda SPRINTED. I got lazy but still managed to catch up with my pals. Our time was about an hour and thirty minutes. If we minus 15 minutes for the potty stop we would've gotten an hour and 15 minutes. But oh well, the important thing is that we had lots and lots of fun along the way. It was my first Vancouver Sun Run and it was definitely a very memorable event.

After the run we got juice, chocolate milk, energy bar, fruits and bagels at the food area thingy. Arrrrrrgghghhggh soooo yummy. I just wanna say thank you to all the people who helped out with the sun run. You guys did an amazing job and we really appreciate it!

Yayyyyyy

Guess what? I am finally done Elementary rudiment! I mean, I only used three classes to finish it! Not bad for someone who's never been really exposed to serious theories. Next class I am gonna go into Intermediate rudiment and I hope it's not a big fuss for me. Piano....not hard at all. I am enjoying a Russian song because I can really hit the key like a drunk man. Yes. Happy face for the day.

Something's Wrong With My Leg

Okay, so today around noon my left leg started to ache soo badly that I had to rest for a bit. I don't know why it hurts. It's still bothering me at the moment and I just can't get rid of the pain. Ugh. Maybe it's from all the sprints and long jumps I've done during the past few days. Oh yeah for 100 meter sprint test, I got a bad 8 outta 10 because I got hungry during the sprint and kinda slowed down at the end. For long jump I am happy because I got a good 10-----I jumped for 3.2 meters. Not bad for a nerd. Long legs Last Forever. But I am overusing them so the ache in my left leg is probably a warning. Oh shoot, oh oh oh oh now I know why it's hurting...it's because of shot put! I got a 9 outta 10 but I kinda overused my leg for extra strength...ow ow ow ow wo w

Lightning in the Microwave

So today I went to the cafeteria to microwave my Church chicken burger. I put it in and waited for one minute and took it out and it felt cold. Huh. So I put it in again and microwaved it for two minutes. Still cold. I tried about five times more, each for two minutes, but the burger just wouldn't heat up!Finally I decided to go for five minutes. It was all going well until the moment a blue lightning flashed in the microwave. I was so. scared...So I took the burger out and looked at it. Nothing was burnt except parts of the tin foil wrap (there were small, burnt holes, and it smelled like burnt paper consider the inside of the wrapping is paper). Then I took a bite of the sandwich and it tasted nice. Hhahahahhhaha. A little spectacle of the day.

The Red Parka

So during spring break Leslie showed me this funny Japanese video called The Red Parka. I never got to finish it so I am watching it again today. The first part is soooo funny because it's just this dude dressed in red and when he jumps his clothes get ripped apart and he is left with nothing other than his underwear and his shoes. The second part he just pours water on his head and says "break fast" He actually meant breakfast, but he said the word in funny Japanese accent so it sounds really weird. Anyway you have to watch the video for yourself. Here's the link:

Eating Flowers

I ate flowers. I am serious. I am not joking.

Flowers don't taste bad actually. You just have to know which one is the best one to eat. Be careful when you are picking flowers (for food), because not all flowers are edible. You can actually get very very sick from eating poisonous flowers. I think dandelion is probably the safest one you can eat (apparently you can see dandelion salad in stores such as Safeway). Anyway, squash blossom is fine as well. It actually taste soft and kinda minty.

Here are some warnings for picking edible flowers.
One very important thing that you need to remember is that not every flower is edible.
In fact, sampling some flowers can make you very, very sick.
-You also should NEVER use pesticides or other chemicals on any part of any plant that produces blossoms you plan to eat.
-Never harvest flowers growing by the roadside.
-Identify the flower exactly and eat only edible flowers and edible parts of those flowers.
-Always remember to use flowers sparingly in your recipes due to the digestive complications that can occur with a large consumption rate. Most herb flowers have a taste that's similar to the leaf, but spicier. The concept of using fresh edible flowers in cooking is not new.

Long Jump Practice!

This afternoon my dad and I went to the school oval for a long jump practice (there's a pit over there, and two more on the south grass field). If the weather is good tomorrow, we are gonna have a LONG JUMP TEST. Mr. Pears only gave us half-a-class to practice, and I only got one chance to go. Well, I practiced some more today. My dad's pretty good at sports (even though he is a nerd) so he kinda acted like my coach and was like babbling about my technique and stuff. Turns out that his words are true. I almost reached three meters (I think). My dad was all like, "I COULD DO FOUR OR FIVE METERS WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE". I am not sure whether he was bluffing or not. Hhahahahaha. Anyway, the practice calmed me a little because I know that I am gonna be ready for tomorrow's possible test. Wish me luck!

Cutting Mushroomz

Cutting mushrooms is actually very fun, especially when you snip away the roots of those long n' white mushrooms in a bunch. They are pretty skinny so it's pretty easy to cut them. Trust me, the lower part of a mushroom is not very tasty nor tender. I like to eat the umbrella part because it's always so smooth and slippery and yummy. The stems are okay-ish...okay you must be thinking that I am weird but I AM addicted to mushrooms and my mom is adding some mushrooms to my noodle right now. Gotta have lunch. Cya!

Serious Cat are not Happy Nao

DO YOU DARE MOCK SERIOUS CAT?

serious cat is not pleased. Prepare for anger.

LOL this meme is so hilarious. That white cat in the picture actually looks serious and humorless. I have no idea how it did that.

Awkward....-.-

So I went to Alliance Francais this afternoon as usual. But when I got there, I realized that something was wrong. There was only four people I know left! And there were two new ppl! I got kinda freaked out but I thought meh maybe they were just new students. But then when my teacher got here (same one from last session) she took attendance and asked me if I had registered or not. I WAS LIKE "WAHHHHHHH?!" Apparently this is a new session and I have to pay money again. The last session ended before spring break. Wah. I was kinda sad. She invited me to stay but I feel kinda bad to stay there (without paying any money for it) so I thanked her and told her that I would discuss the issue with my parents and see if they want me to continue the next session or not. Hhahahaha. It was awkward, but I tried my best to turn the situation around!

Buskerfest!

Woot! This Buskerfest thingy sounds really really fun! My job is the advertiser. I love making posters and telling everyone to come out to the fest and show off their skillz. I think I am gonna play the piano and this weird flute thingy with a gourd on top. Hhahaaaa. I think it's rather an unique instrument. Leslie's gonna sing and Jessie----she's probably gonna play the violin or make some awesome penguins outta play-dohs. They are just so adorable! Jessie jessie jessie plz make me some penguins....Anyway.My mom's really excited about the idea of buskerfest and she suggests that I should take a friends with me and perform at Pacific Center and raise money for the charity.I think it's not a bad idea! I wanna try it...so, who's with me?

Paper Cut

I got a really bad paper cut today while I was getting my piano books. A thin layer of sheets accidentally sliced through my skin-----and guess what: blood was oozing out. I was so freaked out. I already got numerous cuts from high jump, and now this?! Well the blood sorta stopping oozing out and it's hardening so I guess I will be just fine. Yes. I can skip doing the dishes today. But I still hate paper cuts. They are really annoying. Don't you agree with me? The one I got is such a big one that the wound is spreading outward and the dry blood sorta formed a lipstick mark-like thingy around the cut. Ugh.

What a Freakin' Day

Wow. Second day o' school after spring break. I was really nervous today because I thought I'd lost my math homework but luckily I found it in my locker so that almost killed me. Anyway Ms. Fowler kinda checked our homework and man I am just glad that I found mine. For French I was fearing for a quiz but Ms. Chuaqui wasn't there so we were all safe. For English I was kinda scared of my book talk. I mean I was prepared, but still...well, I didn't get picked. So it all went well. I volunteered to go next Monday along with Jessie and Leslie. So next Monday you guys will have Andy, Jessie, Leslie and me going for the book talk. Anyway. Today isn't too bad. I am gonna eat some seaweed soup now. So bye!

Praise the First Day o' School

So I woke up at 7:30 this morning. A dream happened but went poof the moment I woke up. Sigh~~Anyway it's gonna take me a while to remember what that dream was about. Oh yeah. It was me and a bunch of hunters and they were hunting for me in a swamp and I fled to this old dump of a mini castle and they took a random baby and blew his face off. Then I had burgers served from a Zombie lady.

Weird, eh?

Well, I took my painting for Leslie and food coloring (for my hydraulic project) and went to school. We had art for first period. It was kinda fun. Me, Leslie and Tony talked about weird stuff, There were awkward silent moments. Tony was talking about something and Leslie was listening but I was playing with my clay sculpture, so when he finished his sentence I blurted out the word "nomad' for no reason. They both stared at me. I think they liked that word.

Then we had socials and we had to complete that ridiculous survey. I filled it out randomly with Aileen and it was a lot of fun. Then it was lunch time and me and Leslie tested out our hydraulic project in the washroom. Turns out she brought food coloring as well and it was already diluted with water. It was bluish. When we brought it to the lab some people thought the liquid was Gatorade and they wanted to try it (drink it). I said it's actually the stuff that you use to clean toilets. People vomitted. LOL I was only joking... it's just water with food coloring.

Last period we had PE and we did some high jumps. I think I did okay...but I am excited. I can't wait for the running events.

Peace'

OH NOES!

Last day of spring break before school re-openeth!I've done all the work I needed to do...so lemme just enjoy my last day of freedom. Unfortunately, I never got the chance of visiting parks. Parents too busy...couldn't take me...and I couldn't go there all by myself~~~~~-.-

But I kinda finished my painting. That's something. Yep.

I hope I didn't waste my spring break.

SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER PLZ COME ====

Owwwwwwwwuuuch

My back and my bum hurt so bad. Yesterday's I've been sitting the WHOLE DAY painting. Yep. I rarely got up. So now my muscles are screaming and protesting. Whenever I sit my body would hurt soooo bad. It's kinda odd considering I'd painted for the whole day before and my body never got tired. Maybe it's just that this time I rarely got up and the last few times I got up like once every 40 minutes.

Oh yeah and yesterday was April Fool's Day! I didn't go out and in my family we don't really have the tradition of celebrating April Fool's Day. I wonder how my dad did in his office. Hopefully he didn't get pranked...OR DID HE? Anyway he didn't tell me and I was so sleepy yesterday I went to bed at 10:00.

Today I have theory class. Then I'm off to Safeway to purchase some food colouring (for the hydraulic project, ya know). Then I am probably gonna go to the library and pick up some books.

That's the plan for today.

Aha New Painting

I am starting a new piece of painting!!!!!!!It's an acrylic one because sadly gouage cannot go on canvas (Dun dun dun~~~). Anyway I am gonna give this painting away to a friend of mine and I kinda promised her that I was gonna give it to her immediately after spring break. The painting is not a heck of a lot...Iz just still life. Ya know, a vase o' roses and lilies, a few apples and awesome cloth. Grayish color is the hardest one to handle. I mean, it takes some effort to really get the right gray. Now my painting is almost done....Took me half-a-day...I have to paint really fast because acrylic dries like crazy. Don't wanna waste paint, ya know.

I think it's gonna look awesome after it's finished. ;D
